3 Tragedies

Expect some fast and furious posting in the next couple of days, including NCAA and NFL picks and monster recap of my 5 year college reunion, but there were a couple of things that I wanted to touch on today….

1) Just finished watching the pilot of The Beautiful Life on the CW. It was awesome, Sara Paxton got to me already.

2) Not going to drop any Gossip Girl spoilers from Monday. The episode was fine, but I am worried that they are about two more episodes from neutering Chuck Bass completely. He used to be incredible, now he basically is just a plot device to develop Blair’s character. Just lazy writing.

3) Finally bad things really do in come in threes. I should have realized that on Friday nights as I danced shirtless on a table at an eating house (Davidson’s version of a sorority) swigging directly from a bottle of champagne as MGMT’s “Time to Pretend” was playing in my head at 5am, feeling more alive/free than anytime since I took my football helmet off for the last time my senior year of high school, that the world was going to get me back for rubbing my awesomeness in it’s face.

So I land in O’Hare and everything basically turns to crap (except I have had the best week of work in the history of work)

Sunday Night

Bears open up with our new QB at Lambeau against the God Damn Packers. Defense looks amazing as former Lions HBC, Rod the Great, has our DEnds playing with their ears pinned back getting after Aaron Rodgers. I am Super Jacked. Then Cutler and the O take the field, and I am so horrified at what I see. Instead of ProBowler 006, I see a rerun of Bad Rex. So I start dropping motherf’ers and threatening to commit suicide. 3 picks in the first half and jittery/uneven play from everybody. Absolute disgusted, think about my brothers who are monster Panther fans, wish I wasn’t able to understand on a intimate level what Delhomme is putting them through.

And while the second half is a little bit better, we still suck and lose our MLB for the season with a destroyed wrist. Urlacher looked great in the first half, back to the 06 version and now he is on the shelf for another 12 months. By the time 2010 rolls around it will be around 44 months since I have seen my 3rd favorite Chicago athlete of all time (1. Michael 2. Sammy Sosa).

Monday

I come home to after spending the day being a stone cold dominator to learn that Swayze was taken away from us. If you heard that I like pancreatic cancer, you have been gravely misinformed. Dalton/Bodi is gone forever, and I was angry and confused how to properly memorialize his passing. I settled on watching Point Break and hoping that he found a way to find another wave.

Tuesday

So I was completely killing it at work again, and I head over to EW.com to see if there were any updates on castings for Friday Night Lights season 4. And what I am greeted with? An EW exclusive that tells me that Kenny Chesney is not going to be touring in the Summer of 2010. I am not really ready to expand on how pissed off I am, but I will said of the bad things that could happen to me this is absolutely among the top ten worst.
