Got murdered in week 1, so currently owe the V Foundation $10. I do take solace that I was all over the two biggest games of the weekend, Bama and Ok. State. This weekend is my 5 year college reunion, so it is only fitting that I am picking against a fellow 2004 DCat. Tim Robertson get the opportunity to slap me around this week. Robertson, like StockFrat, is a proud member of the 10-0 Cats and is a huge Georgia Bulldog fan. I will happily be watching most of this games with Robertson this weekend.
Clemson Tigers at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (-5.5) Thursday Night
I have enough experience with Tiger lore to know to go against them on the road during a short week. PJ’s triple option headed up by Dwyer only seals the deal. Taking the Jackets, giving the points. The Jackets are rising with a bullet. I am more interested to see if the Original Big Game can get into the Tiger press conference after the game for the second time and harass Dabo while referring to him as “Tammy” and his ball club as “ClemPson”. Over 43
TR: I love the insurance salesman to ACC head coach rise of Dabo Swinney and all the IPTAY fans seem to be drinking the orange kool-aid hard but there is no way in a short week Kevin Steele can prepare for Dwyer and the talented GT offense. - Georgia Tech
North Carolina Tar Heels at UConn Huskies (+4)
A couple years ago the Tar Heels went up to Rutgers, and I thought the Scarlet Knights were a lock….the Heels slapped them around. Not making that mistake twice, also doesn’t help that I know the name of the Huskies coach but none of his players. Furthermore the football gods hate Fork and only allow him happiness after the Pack has 4 losses. Heels, giving the points. Under 45.5
TR: Randy Edsall has acc experience and I'm not sure living in Charlotte I can handle the tar heels winning football games. - Uconn
East Carolina Pirates at West Virginia Mountaineers (-6.5)
Don’t like the coaching match up for the Mountaineers, didn’t like their effort against Jerry Falwell’s boys, and the Pirates are unfazed by going into hostile environments. But still crossing my fingers and taking Jarrett Brown, Noel Devine and the rest of the boys in Morgantown to cover. Over 44
TR: They should have hired Skip Holtz when they could and he is going to show them why this weekend. ECU
Central Michigan Chippewas at Michigan State Spartans (-14.5)
I would probably stay away from this game if I was betting real cash, the big line freaks me out. But the MAC really, really, really sucks. Taking the Spartans and hoping Tom and Lupe can cheer them to a couple of extra TDs to beat that spread. Under 53
TR: The Chippewas have the Tim Tebow of the rust belt at QB and I like them to cover v. an MSU team that is looking ahead to Notre Dame - CMU
Mississippi St. Bulldogs at Allbarn Tigers (-14)
Allbarn showed some life last week, not enough to give 14 points to anybody. They probably pull it out at Jordan-Hare but not by two touches over Danny and the bulldogs. Give me Miss. St. Under 41.5
TR: Can the big time coordinators actually succeed as head coaches. We will see this weekend as Meyer Jr. coaches against Mack Brown/Tubberville Jr. - MSU doesn't have tebow and Auburn covers this one.
Stanford Cardinal at Wake Forest Demon Deacons (-3)
I thought that Grobe should have taken one of the higher profile jobs he was offered over the past couple of seasons and sometimes when a shark stops swimming, (I am looking at you Billy Donovan) he dies. Now he is going to have to deal with living in Winston Salem and being 0-2. Taking Harbaugh, the Cardinal and the 3 points. I hate the 12 est start, but hopefully the dude that gave Jimmy his 70 grand crapper convinced them to fly out early. Over 44
TR: Harbaugh is waiting on an NFL job and will overlook one of the best head coaches in the game. Riley Skinner and company bounce back to take this one.
UCLA Bruins at Tennessee Volunteers (-10)
Love Ricky, I have a huge crush on him and think he’ll get there soon but……don’t love his players. Neyland is no joke, no matter what the west coasters say about Autzen, the Bruins will be a big disadvantage even thought the 4pm kick helps. A confident, well coached Jonathon Crompton is a dangerous thing and is causing me to take the Vols to cover. Over 45
TR: I know that Daddy can coach, I'm afraid that his son might be overlooking this weeks game as he is tweeting about his recruiting success in South Florida on the way to CUM annihilating him in the swamp the following week. Not sure I like either coach but I like UCLA to cover on the river banks despite the perfect storm of UT fans walking out of the deer stand and into the stadium to watch Crompton throw more boomerangs than11 against the dolphins
Purdue Boilermakers at Oregon Ducks (-12)
If you would have told me last week that the Ducks would be only giving 12 against Purdue week 2, I would have jumped on a plane, cleared out my savings and doubled my money in 3 hours……..just don’t understand how you could give 12 points to anybody after watching that offense on Thursday night. It will probably end up being an epic blowout and a revenge game for Phil Knight and the Ducks, but I am going to have to see it. Taking the 12 and the Boilermakers, who looked competent against Dumb last weekend (but who doesn’t). Under 58.5.
TR: I'm not a fan of the "coach in waiting" trend that has taken over college football. This is a battle of two of the most recent coordinators that have been promoted. I could care less about this game but I think Oregon has more talent than an inner city boxing gym and covers.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish against the Michigan Wolverines (+3)
Wrong about the Irish last week, right about Jimmy though. He looked great, I think he has got it now. Starting to look at lot like 05 in South Bend. Tenuta against Frosh QB(s) seals the deal. Irish giving the field goal. Over 48
TR: Brian Kelly will be watching this game closely to figure out which job he would rather have next year as potentially both head coaches could be gone. Notre Dame has too much talent to lose this game and I like them to cover although I'm not confident at all.
TCU Horned Frogs at Virginia Cavaliers (-11)
I would never take Al Groh over Gary Patterson. Never. Frogs giving the 11. Maybe if the UVA alums weren’t busy fighting with Heel alums to see who are the biggest sissies in Division 1, they would have put a stop to this awhile ago. I feel bad for George Welsh, he deserves better. Under 40.5
TR: TCU has lost its AD to the Carolina Panthers recently.Virginia lost their pride after getting beat by William and Mary. Patterson ought to be in Clemson these days but he puts it on UVA heavy waiting for the next good job to come.
SoCal Trojans at The Ohio State Buckeyes (+7)
I will be rooting for the Buckeyes, but can’t find justification for taking them. I hope they win and make me look stupid. Trojans giving the 7. Over 45.5
TR: USC - Not even close. Trojans. Only good thing for the Buckeyes will be waiting to see what Pryor writes on his eye black this week.
Steve-O, why did I get no love for going 7-4 last week???????
